Stork guitarist and former Korn touring member Shane Gibson has died. Stork said in a statement that the 35-year-old passed away early Tuesday morning in an Alabama hospital as a result of complications from a blood clotting disorder.
Gibson's bandmates said his virtuosity as a guitarist was "matched only by his wit and generosity of spirit," adding that he will be "missed beyond measure."
Gibson formed Stork in 2010, and the metal group released its self-titled debut the following year. They're expected to put out their sophomore effort, Broken Pieces, later this month.
Before Stork, Gibson spent three years as Korn's touring guitarist during Brian "Head" Welch's absence. He also played on frontman Jonathan Davis' 2007 solo album, Alone I Play.
